If you’re anything like us (and we know you are) you have “purchased” an album only to find the only thing worth listening to is the single. Gorillaz Plastic Beach is most definitely not that album. Plastic Beach is an amalgamation of musical genres and vacillates between mellow, 80’s synth pop and electric-backed hip-hop – sometimes in the same song. Rolling Stone said it best, “It’s almost like if James Hetfield quit Metallica to join Dethklok.” With a collaborator list as long as your… arm (Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, De La Soul, and Lou Reed stand out – along with a video cameo by Bruce Willis), there really is something on this album for everyone.
