In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, or you just don’t care about music, the electronic musical duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo–aka Daft Punk–just called it quits with an 8 min long video titled ‘Epilogue.” In said video–which you can watch above–the gold and silver-clad robot men are seen meeting in the desert, activating self-destruct mechanisms and then seemingly moving on with their musical and life journeys. While we’re still holding out hope that the two Frenchman rejoin forces to craft more bangers like “Around the World,” “Da Funk” and even “Get Lucky,” at the very least, this current separation primes them for a sold-out in ticket in a couple years for a 30th Anniversary Reunion Tour celebration. In the meantime, check out the almost eight minute long “Epilogue” video that brings the Daft Punk we knew to a close. And honestly, if this IS the end, what a graceful way to go out on top.
