What do Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Queen, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John all have in common other than being famous rock stars? Each one of those artists has items in Julien’s Auctions upcoming Icons & Idols: Rock ‘N’ Roll sale later this month. The two big centerpieces of the auction both come from Nirvana‘s Kurt Cobain–his custom built, left-handed Fender Mustang guitar used during the In Utero tour and Cobain’s vintage green cardigan sweater worn during MTV Unplugged that previously sold for over $140,000. Other items include the very first prototype Fender Telecaster made for Elvis, handwritten lyrics from Dylan, Clapton and Springsteen, Jackon’s right-hand leather glove worn during the Jacksons’ Triump Tour, Janis Joplin archival tape, the shirt Sid Vicious was wearing the day he died, one of Elton John’s jumpsuits, a snare drum played by Keith Moon and a whole lot of other rock paraphernalia you’ll probably want to buy.
