The COVID-19 crisis is real, and caring for the sick is an overwhelming task in terms of personnel and space. Capacity in some cities has been maxed out, and it’s more of a triage situation than anything else. Startup JUPE Health wants to address the space crisis by manufacturing mobile health units that can be rapidly deployed for rest, recovery, and intensive care, as well as for rest areas for healthcare workers who are currently far overtaxed. The units utilize automotive industry tech, and the unit chassis can be packed flat for ultra-quick, multi-unit transport. 24 of them can stack on a 40′ flatbed pulled by a heavy-duty pickup. They also happen to cost a mere fraction of a traditional hospital room. Never has smart thinking come to the rescue in a situation like this, shy of a vaccine, that is.
