The late animator and artist Dave Creek (of Bob’s Burger’s fame) left behind more than an animated legacy. His own personal craft might be even more impressive because it’s seemingly the polar opposite of his TV work. These meticulously crafted Bonsai treehouses are tiny worlds in and of themselves. Each one took thousands of hours, some projects going on for years due to the sheer level of detail. They include staircases, balconies, ladders, windows, intricate support systems, and highly detailed wooden roof shingles. Rather than manipulating the trees, the Creek’s own architectural design works around it all. Each treehouse project is a remarkable testament to his real passion. Creek passed away after a skydiving accident earlier this year, but his craft will be enjoyed for decades to come.
