When it comes to making things out recycled truck tarps, Freitag is pretty much the world leader. The company is adding to its line of bags, apparel and accessories with Zippelin, a wheeled travel bag that uses an inflatable bike inner tube instead of a frame, which makes it lighter than anything else on the market. Each bag uses a similar framework and build but is truly unique because the recycled materials make sure no two bags are completely identical. They look like a rolling travel duffel held closed with seat belt straps and pinewood derby wheels attached to the bottom, but that just makes it even cooler in our opinion—especially when you factor in the technology. When you’re not traveling, deflate the tube and roll up the bag to make it take up less space than a large bottle of booze from duty free. The wheels are also easily detachable, with a quick-release mechanism and storage right on the front of the bag. The 85L bag can also be worn on your back if you don’t want to wheel it. In other words, Zippelin is the best of both worlds when it comes to wheeled carry-ons and travel backpacks.
