Xabier Ferro is a creative designer and wood artisan currently based in LA who’s creating awesome daily carry goods as HoboWood. The first release is a seventeen layer thick wood carabiner that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Using oak, walnut, or a combination of the two, each carabiner is created by pressing 17 layers of those woods bonded in a press mold and finished with three hand-rubbed coats of True-oil and wax polish. Functionally, it works like just about every other not-for-climbing-purposes carabiner out there, but this one is a whole helluva lot prettier and, obviously, made out of wood.
