Columbia—the outdoor sportswear company that’s been outfitting people the world over with everything they need to stay warm, dry, cool and protected for over 70 years—has outdone even themselves by building survival tools into their clothing labels. Each of the six different stainless steel tools (Purifier, Sextant, Handsaw, Sewing, Fishing and Sun Dial) is hidden under everything from the washing instructions and down lining information to the motivational statement and size information so you have access to just about everything you need to survive in the wilderness as long as you’re willing to pop it out of its shell. Before you get worried about multiple stainless tools irritating your skin, or you favorite fleece getting confiscated by the TSA, these are the labels that hang from the exterior of your clothing and not the tags sewn inside. Unfortunately, Columbia hasn’t yet released details on which items with receive the survival tool tags and where they’ll be available internationally.
