You Can Own Rare Pieces of US Space History in the Buzz Aldrin: American Icon Collection

Sotheby’s always has fascinating and eye-catching auctions but the latest collection may very well take the cake. Buzz Aldrin: American Icon features a collection of items provided by Aldrin himself and offers something of a time capsule of the incredible life he has led. On July 26th, these personal mementos and genuine pieces of history will be available to bid on with final prices expected to hit millions of dollars in some cases.

Highlights from the auction include Buzz Aldrin’s Apollo 11 flight jacket, the felt-tipped pen which saved the mission and the lives of Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, and the Original Moon Man award presented to Aldrin by MTV. The lowest estimated items are around the $1,000 mark while some items are expected to hit upwards of $2 million.

The Buzz Aldrin: American Icon Collection from Sotheby’s provides bidders the unique opportunity to own and participate in the history of space travel.
