Robert Edison Fulton Jr. was an adventurer. The man traveled the world on the seat of a motorcycle and risked life and limb in the name of exploration. When it came to storing important items, he turned to a field chest he created. Best Made teamed up with Gerstner & Sons along with legendary artist Ross MacDonald to create a stunning chest like the one Fulton relied on. Fashioned out of American cherry, brass hardware, and leather, The Field Chest is a functional work of art. Built in is a book shelf cubby, 12 unique drawers, a secret compartment, a clock, a ruler, and open storage areas. Leather straps keep books or notepads in the side compartments while brass handles make transporting the Field Chest manageable. You probably won’t shell out the cash required to own one, but just looking at it makes us want to build one as a DIY project.
