This spring and summer, you’re going to feel the call of the wild. You’re going to want to get off your couch, you’re going to want to get out onto the lake or the trail. Or the back patio of your favorite brewery, at least. And you’re going to want the right gear for the rugged, adventure-minded task at hand.
You’re going to want a field watch, is what I’m trying to say.
As spring breezes into town on the heels of a rather frigid winter, nature’s pull is stronger than ever, and the right tools of the trade can prove invaluable. It’s a bit different for everyone (maybe you prize hiking boots with plenty of rebound, a backpack built with plentiful storage space or a moisture-wicking shirt fashioned with extra SPF protection), but there are a few non-negotiables.
Whether you’re dying to break out your tackle box or simply rustle up a bonfire or embark on a hike from your family cabin, the right watch delivers the goods. I’m not talking about a watch with glitz and glamor, though.
I’m talking about the field watch, a style pioneered for its real-world military heritage in the trenches, prized for its accurate timekeeping, its often-infallible case construction and go-anywhere details (trench boots, meet the trench watch).
