Vans Is Releasing a Special “Fast Times” Checkerboard Slip-On

We’re willing to bet that almost all of you reading this owned and proudly wore a pair of Vans Checkerboard Slip-Ons at least once in your life. After all, they’re one of the most iconic movie sneakers and featured prominently in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. If you have no idea what we’re talking about, you’re in luck. Fast Times is currently streaming on Hulu, and Vans Anaheim Factory is releasing a limited edition pair of Fast Times Checkerboard Slip-Ons. This Vans Anaheim Factory–that’s their department that does the throwbacks and reissues–is a limited re-release of the original promotional shoe from the movie that includes a Fast Times banner wrapped around the side of the outsole. The classic checkerboard pattern and slip-on functionality remain the same, but the shoe has been updated with modern comfort in the form of an Ortholite sockliner. They’re perfect for everyone’s inner Spicoli.
