Do you remember not all that long ago when everyone was crazy about bio fuels? In theory, it’s a great idea because they’re cheaper, sustainable and much better for the planet. But unless you want to expend all that effort (time, money or both) and make your whip smell like a Chinese restaurant, it’s just that – theoretical. That doesn’t mean that products bio fuels are derived from can’t be useful for things other than eating. Take corn for instance. The people at Sprout Watches have managed to turn corn resin into a case, case back, buckle, bezel, dial and an adjustable bracelet. Yeah, you read that right—corn. Available in almost every color imaginable (the ubiquitous black to bright orange), they come with matching resin bracelets or organic cotton bands. Sustainability has never looked this good.
