You may have seen these boots go viral this week, and for good reason. Iconic shoemaker Red Wing designed a special boot just in time for the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Taking the Italian plumber’s boot and making it into a real-life replica may seem crazy, but there’s something extremely fun (and dare we say cool?) about this idea of a higher end brand not taking itself too seriously. With its larger-than-life template, it balances the line between cartoon and craftsmanship. Red Wing goes behind the scenes of this process on their site, showing the design elements and creative thinking behind this out-of-left-field collaboration and it’s a great example of brands going the extra mile to show off their talents in new ways.
