The latest release from the Nike / Jordan collaboration–the Air Jordan XXXVI (aka the Air Jordan 36)–has officially dropped online. Albeit in a different form than what you’re used to seeing. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been watching the Olympics for feats of athleticism as much as footwear, so this particular pair of kicks might look familiar because Jayson Tatum was wearing a multi-colored version during his performance in the USAB’s gold medal game earlier. That salmon/pink/purple iteration isn’t available yet–and neither are the player-exclusive colorways for Guo Ailun, Kia Nurse, Jayson Tatum, Rui Hachimura, and Luka Doncic–but the Glory SE version that pairs white with gold can be purchased right now. More importantly than the models currently available are the details that went into producing this particular pair of kicks. Full-length Zoom Air Strobel unit stitched directly to the upper to minimize weight. 2-loop band system for side-to-side stability. Multidirectional outsole for stop-and-go traction. Dynamic, flexible tongue with targeted padding to ease pressure and provide comfort. Those features are just the beginning. This entire shoe was designed, built, redesigned, and rebuilt to provide maximum comfort and performance–while still looking incredibly good after all was said and done.
