Almost a decade ago, J.Crew turned a bar in Tribeca into a menswear mecca known as the Liquor Store that would, as GQ said, “teach a new group of increasingly style-conscious men that J.Crew could index downtown cool, rather than zippy prep.” At the time, Toddy Snyder was in charge in J.Crew Menswear, so it only makes sense that the Todd Snyder brand would take over the liquor store for a whole new iteration of the shop he helped build for J.Crew. This newest iteration of the popular store marks the second retail New York location for the brand, and is billed by them as, “part clubhouse, part clothing store, our Tribeca outpost is the purest distillation of the Todd Snyder lifestyle, featuring a smart mix of exclusive designs, limited edition collaborations, tailored suiting, curated accessories, collectible artwork, vintage books and grooming essentials, along with a rotating program of member events.” What does that mean in practice? Timex + Todd Snyder Watches. Wool cruiser jackets. Drake’s pocket squares. The list goes on–cashmere turtlenecks, Italian wool fleck topcoats and military shirts, Lotuff leather knapsacks, cashmere sutton suit paints and suit coats, Aesop shampoos, and we’re only getting started.
