Vollebak has outdone even themselves with their new 100 Year Vest. For starters, it’s a good looking utility vest. But it also happens to be made out of a Swiss-engineered material that was developed for the military that can repel fire, wind and rain while still being comfortable enough to wear everyday for it’s hundred year expected life. More importantly, it has enough space across it’s multiple pockets to hold more than the backpack you’re probably using right now. Two giant front pockets on either side that are tall and deep enough–they extend from the shoulders to the waist–to each hold two 1L flasks, an iPad, hammer, machete or a spare kit, or you can just use them as hand-warming pockets when they’re empty. Two large back pockets where you’d find a traditional map pocket that can be used for maps, or more likely, over ear headphones, small pick axes, or even a spare rain jacket. There’s also a bellowed front flask pocket, two diagonal chest pockets (great for passports or sunglasses), two invisible chest pockets, a high tool pocket on the right shoulder, and three military-grade belt tapes that can be used to attach additional gear with ropes, paracord or carabiner. This is one piece of clothing that will be doing its job even after your grandkids are wearing it.
