Pocket squares are nothing new. The story goes that the Ancient Greeks used to carry them around as early as 500 B.C., and that at some point in time, loaded English and French nobles did as well. Some time in the early 1900s, “dapper gentlemen” would squire around with them tucked neatly into the breast pocket of their suit. We don’t know how true any of that really is, but what we do know is that a pocket square looks damn good tucked into the breast pocket of a suit. And J. Crew has new pocket square options. Options in gray twill, blue and white gingham check, crestline madras, and a few denim options with cross or floral prints. If you’re wearing a suit and feeling a bit… uniformed, throw something in the breast region and spice up your day.
