The new R1 V2 FV9021 from the adidas NMD line strikes a great balance between trendy style and athleticism. It’s more of an evolution from the original R1 in that it keeps the same silhouette but adds more nuanced and modern details like a larger heel block that creeps higher into the upper and is connected to a new heel strap, as well as an NMD stamp located just below the laces. The most noticeable change, however, is a rectangular film strip with English and Japanese branding that’s located right on top of the classic stripes, which are seamless and meld right into the comfy Primeknit upper. The first iteration is a black and white colorway that should look great with any athleisure outfit you own, and the R1 V2s might just ramp up your look in the process. Look for them to go on sale December 1st.
