Once you get to the point where a product you created is considered iconic, you don’t do much to screw with that formula. Adidas Sambas and boat shoes are both pretty recognizable so combining the two of them in a one-stop shop package was a no-brainer. Keep the leather three stripes of the Samba that are instantly recognizable by just about everyone. Throw in laces that rap the top of the shoes like a pair of boat shoes, and then put the whole thing in a real earthy suede. This pair of shoes isn’t some revolutionary new design involving some crazy, scientific fabrics with unpronounceable names. What they are is a pair of shoes that feel like a few of other pairs of lo-tops in your closet with some added flavor and a new colorway. Adidas didn’t go back to the drawing board, but that’s why we like these.
