If you haven’t been paying attention, Daniel Arsham, the American artist behind Snarkitecture, has been working with adidas on a collection of sneakers focused on the passage of time. The second in the collection, “Present,” is an all black shoe inspired by Arsham’s love affair with archaeology. Starting with a classic adidas running silhouette, Arsham made a shoe that he feels represents the current moment (the previous shoe in the collection was called “Past” and the next will presumably be “Future”). He did that by using very en vogue materials, like neoprene and the Boost sole adidas has been decking its sneakers out with recently. The sneakers drop on December 9.
