There are warehouses at distilleries across the bourbon landscape of America that house booze that has never seen the light of day. Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is setting out to find these rare offerings and bottle them for your enjoyment. The first two – Barterhouse Whiskey and Old Blowhard Whiskey – were both unearthed at the famous Stitzel-Weller Distillery and should be hitting shelves in March. Barterhouse ($75) is a 20-year-old whiskey with the smell of buttercream and spice, and Old Blowhard ($150) is a 26-year-old beauty that’s spicy with hints of orange peel. They are much safer options than trying to sneak into these warehouses yourself.
