Life is often a balance between needs and wants. For example, does your grocery getter AMG E63 wagon need 850 tire shredding horses? Probably not. But would it make you the coolest mofo in the Whole Foods parking lot? In our opinion that’s just a stupid question, of course it would. Good thing the psychos (engineers) at Germany’s Brabus think like we do. They opened the hood of the E63 and said that 5.5 liter 577 hp motor was just too damn small. So they got out their tool set and bumped it to 6.0 liters while strapping on two very impressive turbos as well as some other engine wizardry to coax 850 horsepower and over 1000 lb ft of torque – enough to do 0-60 mph in about 3.1 seconds. Or in other words, fast enough to go out for a latte and be back before your automatic garage door closes. Brabus is cool enough to even throw in a warranty on this beast although we doubt it covers the resulting tire disintegration every time you lay into the loud pedal.
