Asus Transformer AiO

Outside of everyone’s favorite All in One computer (iMac, obviously), we’ve never considered ourselves fans. In the PC world, it always seemed like you were making some sort of sacrifice for the convenience of having a computer with a monitor built in to it. It wasn’t powerful enough; or the monitor wasn’t big enough; or it was simply just way too expensive to be reasonable. Asus just changed all of that with the appropriately named Transformer. $1300 isn’t a sum to sneeze at, but you’re getting a lot of bang for those $1300 bucks because the Transformer is an All in One with a built-in tablet. When the tablet is plugged in to the dock it acts as an 18.4″ monitor that works with the 3rd gen Intel Core processor and runs Windows 8. When you need to leave, the 18.4″ tablet detaches and runs Android 4.1 powered by an Nvidia Tegra quad-core. For all intents and purposes, this thing shouldn’t work. The fact that it does makes it that much cooler.
