Nike has been engineering, over-engineering and re-engineering everything from footwear to wristwear for as long as we can remember, but if they’re “in the zone” like never before. This pair of shoes is more than just a well-designed, cool looking, sure to be on the feet of some dude in a suit on a #menswear blog inside a month, pair of sneakers. It’s a scientifically engineered extension of your body based on the principle of the Chinese finger trap. It’s soft and flexible when at rest, but tight during explosive movement. It sounds like marketing crap, but the combination of the weave, the Free 5.0 sole and traction outsole actually provide added support and stability while in motion. At least that’s what Nike promises. You can judge for yourself on March 28 when they’re released.
