The Porsche 911 has always been considered a purist performance automobile. The clean lines of this car, dating back to the early 60’s, make it one of the most recognized cars in the world. And despite its unspoken power, most 911 models are downright civilized. Enter the 911 GT3. The GT3 is anything but civilized as Porsche has done away with such niceties as sound deadening, back seats, speakers, even air conditioning. In short, anything that would add excess weight and hamper performance. Porsche has made one major change this year – it has eliminated the clutch. That’s right, the 2014 will come in 7 speed automatic only. Despite the lack of a manual transmission, the 3.8 liter puts 470 horsepower to the rear wheels at 8250 rpm – enough for 0-60 times in the mid 3 second range while topping out at 195 mph. Available fall 2013.
