The idea of taking a vintage watch and putting a shiny new strap on it is nothing new. Throne Watches is going about the whole thing in a slightly different way, though. You won’t find any watches badged Rolex, or Omega, or IWC, or Panerai. What you will find is a few numbers from Casio, some unpronounceable foreign brands, unbranded faces and most importantly, faces with the likes of Poseidon, Minnie Mouse, vintage cars and guys bowling. They might not take themselves too seriously when it comes to the faces–that’s what makes them fun–but they’re serious about the hardware. Every leather band is customizeable to your specifications and is made of genuine Horween leather. Throw in some contrast stitching, some rivets and a variety of different clasps and you have yourself the makings of a pretty sweet $80 watch.
