Jonathan Kambouris “Beer Garden”

Jonathan Kambouris “Beer Garden”

Beer is art. The cans and bottles don’t design themselves. The marketing campaigns don’t come out of nowhere (frogs and horses have never been the same since Budweiser). Most importantly, there’s the liquid gold contained within its aluminum or glass confines. But beer AS art is kind of a tougher pill to swallow… unless you’re Jonathan Kambouris. Kambouris took crushed and discarded beer cans from festivals, put them on a pristine white backdrop and photographed them. The end result is his own personal beer garden installation that makes you think about trash and being green and beer cans, but mostly makes you want to drink beer.
