Using existing, vintage style building materials to create something new and shiny is pretty much the basis for every “Homegoods” store on Etsy. There’s a reason for that. Things just aren’t built, or designed, like they used to be. Areaware is taking the carpenter clamps everyone’s seen before and repurposing them for a higher calling–to be shelving. Mount the two cast iron and Beech wood clamps to the wall. Find a piece of wood/mdf/laminate/steel to serve as a shelf. Clamp it down in your new, old, fancy wall brackets. Instant shelf. Those invisible hanging shelves are cool, but these are cooler. Plus, in a pinch, they could technically serve as actual clamps.
