Ripstop nylon was originally created to serve as a replacement to silk in the production of parachutes during WWII. To be fair, anything good enough for parachutes in WWII is something we want gear made out of. In fact, we’d probably put down hard earned greenbacks for just about anything made out of the material originally designed to prevent people from imminent death as they fell from perfectly good airplanes because it’s downright awesome, obviously durable and would make a good story. Puma and Undefeated got together and decided to take the same sort of ripstop nylon and apply it to the production of some of the cleanest, utilitarian sneakers we’ve seen in some time. Even though the material once served a much more important purpose, we’d be lying if we didn’t say we almost liked it more when Clydes are made out of it.
