When we talk about productivity on our iPad we base it on 3 star high scores in Angry Birds and how much of our FlipBoard feed we manage to get through. Damon Albarn (of Blur and Gorillaz fame) on the other hand has different ideas. Using a combination of apps while on tour with Gorillaz, he created an entire new Gorillaz album called The Fall – using an iPad and some additional instruments. He also managed to do it in 32 days and then released it for free on Christmas day. It’s classic Gorillaz, technologically and dexterously impressive (we still haven’t beaten Angry Birds) and is cheaper than most apps – if you don’t want to download it. Listening to the album is free, but downloading it requires a fan club membership for $45. We’re not going to look a free, legal gift horse in the mouth.
