My Kyrgies House Shoes Just Got a Bigger Radius

The slippers I wear when I'm between inside and outside.

There’s always a moment. Standing at the door. One hand on the knob. One hand reaching for my house slippers. Do I slide them off? Just to go grab the mail? Do I leave them behind and step out barefoot? Hoping no one sees me in the hallway? It’s a small, daily dilemma. Inside versus outside. Comfort versus practicality.

Life doesn’t always stay inside. Even when you’re home. Morning coffee on the balcony. Evenings on the rooftop. Mailroom runs. All those liminal spaces between “in the home” and “out in the world.” And now, my little comfort ritual extends to those spots, too. Because Kyrgies just built slippers with a bigger radius.

The Bishkek Kicks are the outdoor version of the Kyrgies I already loved. Same handmade wool felt from Kyrgyzstan, soft and breathable, but now with a rubber sole that actually wants to meet pavement. They keep the quiet charm of a house shoe while handling the grit of sidewalks and stairwells.

What makes them different is subtle but essential. The sole is flexible yet sturdy, giving you traction on rooftops, courtyards, and city sidewalks. The wool still regulates temperature. Warm when it’s cold. Airy when it’s not. And the slip-on silhouette means they’re as effortless at the door as the originals, just with a little more confidence in where they’ll take you.

The Bishkek Kicks are for anyone whose definition of “home” doesn’t stop at four walls. They carry the ritual of comfort into those hybrid spaces.
