British sports car company TVR is still alive, but it will likely never make cars as crazy as the ones from its illustrious past. This 2000 TVR Cerbera Speed 12 is perhaps the ultimate example. The Cerbera Speed 12 was created for the FIA’s GT1 class racing series, but due to changing regulations, the car never raced. TVR went on to create a singular road-going version that you see here, and it’s headed to auction. The unapologetically red monster is powered by a 7.7-liter V12 with 790 horsepower that’s actually closer to a grand’s worth. It was deemed too nutso for daily street driving, and no more units were made. Silverstone auctions will put it on the live auction block on May 20th. Bidders will be going after a piece of automotive history, and they will likely ignore its mail-slot visibility and the appearance that it wants to swallow small children whole.
