Citizen just introduced two new “Ecozilla” dive watches that are decidedly different from the original and also from each other. The Promaster Dive 300M BJ8057-17X sports a 48.2mm black DLC-coated stainless steel case and bezel, green dial matching green rubber strap. The brighter BJ8058-06L gets a brushed stainless steel case, dark blue dial, and a canary yellow rubber strap. Each watch also gets bezel numerals, text, and 12 o’clock pip colored to match the dial and strap. Both watches use Citizen’s solar charged quartz movements that have proven reliable, robust, and accurate ( +/- 15 seconds per month!). They also have left-handed ‘destro’ crowns that avoid wrist pinch. The large 48mm cases are mitigated by hidden lugs, so they wear smaller than their size might indicate. Water resistance measures in at 300 meters, and the mineral crystal provides great impact resistance and good scratch resistance. Anti-shock and anti-magentic properties bolster the toughness factor. They’re available now directly from Citizen.
