From time to time, you’ll find collections of Italian cars, German cars, and American cars up for auction but it’s not often you come across a stable of iconic Japanese sports cars. The Datsun Z is a legend from 1969 that birthed generations of Z cars leading up to the current 400-horsepower Nissan Z. Six original Datsun Z cars, from a collection that took 20 years to amass, just sold at auction, and all of them are much-coveted, low mile S30 models: a 1973 Datsun 240Z in Lime over black vinyl, a silver 1974 260Z in silver over black vinyl, a 1976 280Z 2+2 in Ice Blue Metallic, a 1977 280Z in Light Blue Metallic over black vinyl, and the piece de resistance, a 1970 Datsun 240Z Series I in Safari Gold paint. All six beauties sold for hefty sums via Bring a Trailer’s Datsun Z Collection and should make their owners very happy, indeed.
