Fly By Jing’s Big Steamy Is the Best Way to Make Dumplings at Home
When it comes to our all-time favorite dishes, few things compare to perfectly prepared and properly steamed dumplings. While we can’t help with the building of the dumplings themselves (Serious Eats has you covered), we can clue you in to one of our favorite ways to prepare them–the Fly By Jing Big Steamy. While we’re all for traditional bamboo steamer baskets, the Big Steamy is more durable, fire-proof, dishwasher and oven-safe, and easier to use than it’s all bamboo alternatives. When it comes to operation, steaming your dumplings is even easier than making your favorite Italian pasta dish. Fill the base with 1-2 inches of water and bring to a boil. Line the bamboo steamer with perforated parchment paper or veggies, arrange dumplings, cover, and place on the base. Eye your water and add more as needed. Continue steaming until cooked through. We’re big fans of finishing the dumplings with a healthy pour of chili crunch, some cabbage and some chives, but you can also combine all those things into a dipping sauce if that’s your jam.
