Scottish distillery The Macallan has used its Harmony Collection to offer unique and often experimental whiskies. In the brand’s latest release, The Macallan has produced two whiskies inspired by the world of coffee: Inspired by Intense Arabica and Smooth Arabica. The two offerings were aged in a combination of American and European oak casks though the end result is quite distinct. Intense Arabica offers robust espresso notes and clocks in at 44% ABV. Smooth Arabica is a softer experience with 40% ABV. The coffee callbacks don’t stop with the flavor profile, though. The display boxes are made from repurposed coffee bean husks so you can get a whiff of coffee while you sip your whisky. Smooth Arabica will only be available in The Macallan boutiques in airports around the world. Intense Arabica is available at the distillery and online now before hitting US retailers in November. Both bottles are priced at $185.
