Sure you might have a vast record collection, but have you actually created your own vinyl records? Well, now you can. The technical wizards at Teenage Engineering have developed the PO-80 Record Factory in collaboration with musician Yuri Suzuki to create your own records from the comfort of your home. The colorful PO-80 Record Factory is a portable DIY record cutter that allows you to make your own 5” vinyl records and playback in lo-fi sound. It ships as a kit so you’ll have to assemble it yourself, but once you do you can connect an audio source, place a 5″ vinyl blank on the turntable, and start pressing your own records.
Teenage Engineering has mastered the art of creating hype-worthy analog music devices and the PO-80 Record Factory is no different. Sure it’s not a beefy vinyl press that you can record full albums. But, you can enjoy some fun novelty and make some lasting memories. The PO-80 Record Factory allows you to record up to 3 minutes at 33rpm or 4 minutes at 45rpm per side. Unfortunately, the PO-80 Record Factory, which was available for $149, has already sold out. But, we wouldn’t be surprised if Teenage Engineering brought it back soon.
