It may be difficult to reinvent the wheel, but I’d argue it’s even tougher to reinvent the watch. I mean, how much more can you change on a watch face? Well, apparently, a lot. With the extreme design limitation of building the world’s thinnest mechanical watch, Bulgari engineered a watch that’s form and function combined. The Octo Finissimo Ultra is as much a piece of craftsmanship as it is a piece of watch history. Clocking in at 1.80 mm thick sandblasted titanium (for reference, that’s just .45 mm thicker than a dime), this watch had to have some serious design upgrades to keep it so trim. For instance, the mechanisms of the watch are exposed to reduce added metal. And you’ll see a separate face for minutes and hours so the hands aren’t stacked atop one another. These elements somehow upgrade and keep it totally classic for a modern wearer. I love it. You’ll love it. Start saving now and buy it for me for Christmas. (You can keep the NFT that comes with the $440,600 price tag.)
