A description of the Bauhaus style reads like utilitarianism for people who like themselves. Anything designed in the Bauhaus lineage is supposed to combine simplicity in form and function in a way that also emphasizes aesthetic beauty. If you want to know exactly what that looks like, check out this Bauhaus-style air purifier concept from Keereem Lee. It’s simple in shape, made of two rectangles, a square, and a circle. But their placement and default color scheme, which are also simple on their own, complicate the purifier and turn it into a focal point of a room’s design instead of an appliance to be hidden in the corner. The purifier pays homage to the original Staatliches Bauhaus, the German art school responsible for the development of the art style, by displaying “Bauhaus” down the top left corner of the purifier, just as it was written on the original Bauhaus’s Dessau location.
