Gooding & Co is presenting several items for the 2022 Amelia Island Auction but few compare to this stunning 1967 Toyota-Shelby 2000 GT racecar. This particular car is one of three examples modified by Caroll Shelby for SCCA C-Production racing. Originally, this car sported a Solar Red paint job and a right-hand drive configuration. Not only was this particular vehicle the first serial-numbered Toyota 2000 GT built, but chassis MF10-10001 also served as a way for Toyota to market its 2000 GT to the public. As such, it’s a truly significant part of Toyota history. A private specialist has owned the car since 1980 who added the white and blue racing livery, a 2.0-liter twin-cam inline-six engine, and further restorative components. Now, it’s expected to fetch about $3 million at auction.
