BMW recently unveiled a radical new concept vehicle that actually changes colors, and it’s really more than just skin deep. The iX Flow uses what’s known as “E Ink” which allows the iX to change between white, grey, and black using electrophoretic technology similar to the Amazon Kindle e-reader screen. The technology could also make use of different colors, as well.
You may ask what the hell would this be for, but the technology could be used to indicate EV charging status or even flash to help you find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot. Inside the iX Flow is a huge 31-inch “BMW Theatre Screen” with Amazon Fire TV for serious lounge-like entertainment, which will likely enter production in future Bimmers.
