We’ve driven the 8th Generation Corvette Stingray, and it’s astounding how much performance and daily drivability it provides for the price. No other car comes close, but that’s clearly not good enough for the bowtie brand because the new 670-horsepower Corvette Z06 has just been unveiled. The flat-plane crank engine parked behind the seats is officially the most powerful naturally-aspirated (aka, non-turbo, non-supercharged) V8 ever shoehorned into a production car. The everyman’s supercar should deliver organ-slamming, face-warping performance, and it also benefits from transmission, chassis, wheel/tire, suspension, braking, and aerodynamic upgrades to make it track-worthy. The Z06 also receives unique styling to separate it from the “regular” Corvette. If that’s not enough, you can get the insane Z07 package with even more insanity. The Z06 goes on sale next summer as a 2023 model, and both performance stats and pricing have yet to be disclosed.
