With all the hype about the Tesla Cybertruck and the Rivian R1S/R1T, it’s easy to overlook the other players in the electric SUV and pickup truck game. Case in point, the new Pioneer from UK-based Fering. It might look like a blend of the Cybertruck and the electric Hummer, but it has something no other EV has: up to 3,780 miles of range. What?? The two electric motors and onboard battery provide a mere 50 miles of all-electric range, but the secret lies in the 70-kW multifuel generator powered by sustainable bio-diesel. This means you could theoretically drive from New York to Los Angeles and still have a thousand miles of range remaining. The Pioneer also boasts 4.6 feet of water fording depth and 60% gradient climbing capability. There’s a dynamic suspension system for adjustable ride height, a 3,306-lb cargo capacity, and an aluminum/composite spaceframe chassis. While there’s no pricing or sale date listed, you can register your interest directly on Fering’s website.
