Fears Re-Releases 1930s Archival Watch to Celebrate 175th Anniversary

Legendary timepiece manufacturer Fears is celebrating its 175th anniversary in style. The legacy British company is reviving its rectangular 1930s watch with vintage flourishes and modern upgrades. The Archival 1930 art deco watch features an original hand-wound vintage 1935 ZentRa 185/ETA 717 movement. With a slight upgrade from the original case, the watch is a touch larger and is machined from 316L Stainless Steel in Germany. The dial maintains the art deco aesthetic with slim numbers and sports a “Vintage Champagne” color. The hands are diamond polished with a bevel down the center to catch glints of light. To bring it all together is an oxblood red “Bristol Leather” strap manufactured by the oldest vegetable tannery in England: Bristol’s Thomas Ware & Sons. The Archival 1930 is also available with an added small seconds dial. Each edition of the timepiece will be uniquely numbered and engraved with a single year when Fears was operational. As such, only 175 watches will be made. Pricing starts at roughly $4,800 and watches will begin shipping at the end of October.
