As much as we love 1,000 horsepower plus supercars from all the usual brands, there’s something to be said for taking it easy behind the wheel of an old-school classic that just refuses to quit. That’s where this 1949 Willys ‘Jeep’ Station Wagon Camper comes in. Sure, it’s most certainly older than anyone reading this, and it has definitely seen better days, but it’s in remarkably good condition given the fact it’s the better part of a century old and eligible for AARP. It has all the period-accurate camping accessories like the collapsible roof-mounted tent, roof, mounted water tanks and storage. It has a three-speed column-shift manual transmission and an inline four-cylinder with RWD. It comes correct with the metallic green exterior, green vinyl interior, and white walls. In other words, this is the perfect example of both the outdoor exploration vehicle and an example of “they don’t build ’em like they used to.” This 1949 Willys ‘Jeep’ Station Wagon Camper will be auctioned off online during the RM Sotheby’s Handle with Fun Auction that runs now until May 13th with an expected gavel price of between $40k and $50k when the hammer drops.
