Sambas are iconic soccer shoes, and they also happen to be great stylish sneaks for those who don’t play the game. Now, adidas has turned them into cleated cycling shoes appropriately named “Velosamba” that look like the original versions. The only differences are the SPD cleats, stiffer insoles so your pedaling energy isn’t wasted, reflective trim, and water-resistant leather. It’s not meant for competitive cycling, of course, but they provide pedal security and cycling performance above and beyond standard non-cleated versions. They’re also more comfortable than cycling shoes when you’re off the bike, and no one will really know the difference.
