When two motorsports juggernauts like Porsche and TAG Heuer come together, you know something great will come of it. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph marks the first collaboration between the two, and it certainly won’t be the last. The timepiece is based on TAG Heuer’s Carrera Sport Chronograph design that celebrated the brand’s 160th anniversary, and its design adds features straight from Porsche. For example, the Porsche logo is engraved on the watch’s tachymeter scale bezel; Porsche’s unique font is used for the applied hour markers, and those numbers run from 0-60, just like a speedometer. Even the dial has an asphalt texture much like racing tarmac, and the triple chrono subdials look like Porsche analog gauges. Red, black, and grey Porsche colors are prominent, as well, and the leather strap gets Porsche 911 white contrast stitching. Flip it over, and the automatic movement’s rotor mimics a Porsche spoked steering wheel. It’s not just a racing homage piece, but it’s a straight-up racing chronograph that displays the best of both brands. Tell your wife you need to get a matching 911 Carrera while you’re at it.
