1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”

1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”

Talk about an obscure Bond vehicle that might be more under-the-radar than the actor who co-starred with it. This XR-7 comes from the sole 007 flick with George Lazenby in the starring role.
Driven by 007’s wife, Contessa Teresa “Tracy” di Vicenzo, this Mercury Cougar XR-7 is one of the few American cars in a Bond lead vehicular role, and it’s now up for auction as a piece of cinematic history. The red on red with black soft top Mercury Cougar XR-7 is in pristine museum condition per its showcar status, and it comes with a trunk-mounted ski-rack, wooden skis, burlwood veneer interior, red vinyl seats, and some sweet flip up headlights buried in the toothy grille. This might just be the best bargain Bond car around.
