While we might not be traveling to Mars anytime soon, commercial space travel is something that will happen in the future. Space flights can’t embark and disembark from traditional airports, which is where Spaceport City comes in. Designed in a collaboration between Space Port Japan Association (SPJ), Dentsu, Canaria and Noiz, Spaceport City is the transportation hub of the future focused on all things space. Like a traditional airport, it has a connected train station in the basement and separate levels for arrivals and departures. Unlike the travel hubs of today, it’s designed more like cruise ship with all the amenities you could ever need–hospital, university, 4D theater, salon, restaurant, gym, theme park, hotel, pool, shops, the list goes on and on. Even if you’re not taking a flight out of this world, the unique building would still be a destination worth visiting for all the space related amenities alone.
